Facility Reservations
2010-2011
The enclosed shelters at Lions, Memorial, or Westgate Parks, and the open shelters at Westgate and Wegman Road Park can be reserved by obtaining a permit from the Gates Recreation & Parks Department. Permits are issued by a lottery system on the second Saturday of the year for February – January for Town of Gates residents; or on a first come first serve basis after the date of the park lottery. Non-residents must wait one week before applying for a permit.
PLEASE NOTE: all weekend dates are currently reserved for the enclosed shelters at Lions, Memorial and Westgate Parks through the month of September. We are booking now through January 2010. Reservations for February 2011 – January 2012 will begin in January, 2011.
Facility Reservations for 2010
Because of the popularity of our picnic shelters, applications for February 1, 2010 through January 31, 2011 will be issued by lottery system on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Gates Community Center for Gates residents only. Lottery numbers will be given out beginning at 9:30 AM. Proper I.D. is required. Only one number will be given per household. No numbers will be given after lottery starts at 10:00 AM. Numbers will be picked at random. Only one shelter reservation will be allowed during the first week of registration. Reservations from non-residents will be accepted starting on Monday, January 18. Weekend dates book fast, so be sure to plan ahead.
Persons wishing to reserve the shelters at Lions, Memorial, Wegman Road or Westgate Parks or the athletic fields may do so by obtaining a permit at the Gates Recreation and Parks office. Park shelters are available to rent from 9:00 AM to 9:45 PM daily.

Ball Diamonds and Football/Soccer Fields
Athletic fields are available for rental. Permits will be issued after Gates Youth Sports Organizations schedules are set. Field fees are as follows based on 2 hours of use:

Security Deposit: There will be a fee of $50 required before a park key is issued to any individual. The Recreation and Parks Department reserves the right to hold all or any portion of this deposit if the shelter is left in poor condition. Upon return of the key and satisfactory inspection of the facility, this deposit is returned to you.
Park Shelter Reservation Refund/Change of Date Fee Policy: No refunds will be made unless notification of cancellation is given 20 working days in advance. Refunds will be 50% of fee paid and given only if another booking is secured for that day. There is a $20 charge for changes of date or location. Any date change must also be received at least 20 working days in advance.
