Employment Opportunities

The Gates Recreation & Parks Department hires staff by contract or on payroll dependent on the program(s) they will be working. Generally, those individuals that have specific skills such as Dance Instructor, Theater Director, Sport Camp, etc. are hired contractually. If you have a specific skill that you would like to teach you should contact the department directly.

Those individuals 16 years and over that would like to work with several programs or camps should complete an employment application. Some of these positions would include:

• Summer Playground Staff
• Summer Trip Staff
• Summer Maintenance Staff
• Safety Patrol
• Special Events
• Special Bowlers

Volunteer Opportunities

The Gates Recreation & Parks Department has many opportunities for residents to become involved as a volunteer. Some examples include:

• Special Events: Halloween Festival, Holiday Tree Lighting, Winter Carnival, Easter Egg Hunt, and Gates Community Theater
• Parks – beautification and safety patrols
• Senior Adult Programs – drivers for medial transports, dinners, trips & events
• Special Bowlers Program
• Special projects
• Summer Playground & Trips
