Registration for the Fall season has begun.
During the first day of registration, activity registration will only be accepted by mail-in, drop-off or on-line. A DROP SLOT is located along the outside wall of the entrance to the Recreation Center, 1605 Buffalo Road. The drop box is accessible 24 hours a day. First day registrations are randomly processed together following the US mail delivery (approx. 11:00 AM). Walk-in registrations will be accepted and processed at the Recreation and Parks Office beginning the second day of registration.
You must have a HOUSEHOLD PROFILE ACCOUNT on file to register on-line. Once you have an account, select the “Login” link on panel to the right, which will bring up the LOG IN page. Enter your account e-mail address and password, and select “Login”, which will bring up the CUSTOMER FAMILY PROFILE page.
You may now select the activity category from the "Courses" menu on the panel to the right and the the activity sub-category from the next window displayed.
Once you have determined the course you wish to register for, select the Course Info link from the listing. Select the “Shopping Cart” button and follow the indicated directions to complete your transaction.
To register by mail-in or drop-off, please print and complete the Household Profile Account Form (if necessary) and the Program Registration Form, both on the FORMS page), listing the “CLASS #”, as found in the program description, where indicated on the registration form. Duplicate form if needed. No phone registrations will be accepted unless otherwise noted. Registration should be completed at least one week prior to the start of the program.
All fees are due at time of registration. Acceptable forms of payments are CREDIT or DEBIT CARD (MASTERCARD, VISA or DISCOVER), check and cash. A separate check, made payable to “Gates Recreation & Parks Department”, MUST be issued for each program. Cash should not be sent through the mail. REGISTRATION CONFIRMATIONS/RECEIPTS WILL BE SENT VIA E-MAIL or THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE. Please note there is a $25.00 processing fee for returned checks due to insufficient funds.
There will be a $6 non-resident fee for each CLASS # registered for at the time of registration unless a non-resident fee is listed in the program description. Residents are defined as anyone who resides in or pays taxes to the Town of Gates.
Most activities have maximum number of participants allowed. Once the maximum number of participants has been reached, a waiting list will be generated. Waiting lists are a source of contact information and do not guarantee you’ll receive a call back. You will receive a call back only if a space becomes available. Special requests cannot be honored.
Upon advance request, provisions will be made for any individual with disabilities as defined in the American Disabilities Act.
Scholarships are available based on need for Gates residents. Call the Recreation and Parks Office for information.
The Gates Recreation and Parks Department reserves the right to modify or change programs and fees as necessary. Participation by any person in a Recreation and Parks program may be terminated at any time by the department at its discretion.
PROGRAM REGISTRATION REFUND POLICY: Refund request must be made at least 3 days prior to the start of an activity, unless the class is canceled, modified, or a medical condition prevents participation (doctor’s written excuse required). NO refunds once a program has begun. Refunds are processed on a monthly basis and must be approved by the Gates Town Board. The Town Board meets on the first Monday of each month. Refund checks will be mailed approximately ten days after this meeting. Depending on date of refund request or notification, refunds can take up to six weeks. 20% of a program registration fee will be retained as a processing fee, unless the class is canceled or modified.
In order to further publicize Gates Recreation and Parks programs, participants may be photographed or video taped during a program. If you do NOT want photos of those listed on the registration form, please contact the Recreation & Parks Office.
